Harry Potter Audio Books
By Jim Oneil
Who in the world doesn't know about Harry Potter?
Some may have not seen the blockbuster movies - starring Daniel Radcliffe as Harry and Emma Watson as Hermione
Granger, among a cast of new young actors and award-winning veterans - but a survey shows that 87 percent of people
the world over have certainly heard about Hogwarts' celebrated wizard and his breathtaking adventures.
This juvenile fiction, created by Joanne K. Rowling or simply J.K. Rowling, has lured not just the kids but even
adults too. In fact, some middle-aged fans have become avid Potter-heads and collectors of Harry Potter memorabilia
and everything that has to do with the literary and cinematic phenomenon.
They've read the books and watched the movies and they're buying the audio book version too. It truly is a treat
for HP fans, adding to their collections the audio book series, made possible through digital audio wizardry, with
special mention to Jim Dale, one of the readers.
All of the seven Harry Potter books - The Sorcerer's Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban, The
Goblet of Fire, The Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince, and The Deathly Hallows - have excellent audio
effects and dramatic dialogues, a treat not just to the visually impaired but also to those who prefer to let their
ears trigger their imagination.
Harry Potter books have been widely received by young and old people across cultures. Even if you are too busy
with your work or chores and have no time to read, or are just not inclined to read texts, you can still come along
with Harry and friends and fight fiends in the engaging world of witchcraft and wizardry.
With the audio books, available in MP3 and WMA formats, you can imagine yourself wandering around Hogwarts, England
and beyond. All you need is a handy audio file player, like your iPod or any smart phone, to be fascinated and
inspired by this well-wrought tale of good versus evil.
It's a good way for whetting your child's appetite for literature too. All seven books are even richer and more
fantastic than most fairy tale collections. Several critics also note that by the fifth book (The Order of the
Phoenix), the Potter saga has ceased to become children's literature, claiming its place in the revered shelf of
literary wonders.
You won't be having any difficulty looking for the audio books. While your local libraries may have a few of
them, online audio book stores are brimming with them. You can purchase the abridged or unabridged version. You can
also get the last book, The Deathly Hallows, from any of these sites for only $80. J.K. Rowling's treat is truly
worth more than that.
